The Brightness of Greedy Europe
The Brightness of Greedy Europe is a puppet theatre that stages, through the paradigm of the musical, the tale of one of the stories of forced migration due to the long-term effects of colonialism. Mooki, the protagonist of the play, finds himself in a condition of no longer having the necessary resources to be able to work in his own country and is forced to leave for Europe in search of a dignified life. The process of self-consciousness that Mooki goes through passes from the search for work to the awareness of belonging to a working-class and migrant social class. This short film documenting Mooki’s work, it is analysed how in the increasingly globalised context of the contemporary world, migration in search of economic resources presents itself as a complex reality, shaped by a series of socio-economic factors, often as a result of neo-colonial processes and territorial dispossession.
